The source code to delete a substring from a string created using StringBuffer is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to delete a substring
// from string created using StringBuffer

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str = new StringBuffer("This is india");

    printf("String is: %s\n", str);

    //delete a substring from of string.
    str.delete(4, 7);

    printf("String is: %s\n", str);
  }
}

Output:

String is: This is india
String is: This india

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an immutable string str using the StringBuffer class. Then we deleted substring " is" from the string using the delete() method and printed the result on the console screen.
