Program/Source Code:

The source code to create a string using the StringBuffer class is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to check nullable string

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str1 = new StringBuilder("");
    val str2: String = null;

    if (str1 == null)
      println("string 'str1' contains null value");
    else
      println("string 'str1' does not contains null value");

    if (str2 == null)
      println("string 'str2' contains null value");
    else
      println("string 'str2' does not contains null value");

  }
}

Output:

Hello World

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an immutable string str using the StringBuffer class. Then we printed the created string on the console screen.
