Here, we will create an immutable string using the StringBuilder class and then we will append an integer number to an immutable string using the append() method and print the result on the console screen.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to append a number to an immutable string using the append() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to append a number to
// an immutable string using append() method

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str = new StringBuilder("Lucky Number: ");

    //Appending a number to an immutable string
    str.append(786);

    println(str);
  }
}

Output:

Lucky Number: 786

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created an immutable string str using the StringBuilder class, which is initialized with "Lucky Number: ". Then we appended an integer number 786 to the immutable string using the append() method. After that, we printed the result on the console screen.
