Here, we will create strings using the StringBuilder class and then we will use the isEmpty() method to check a string is empty or not.

Program/Source Code:

The source code to check the string is empty or not is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to check whether
// a string is empty or not

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val str1 = new StringBuilder("This is india");
    val str2 = new StringBuilder("");

    if (str1.isEmpty)
      println("string 'str1' is empty");
    else
      println("string 'str1' is not empty");

    if (str2.isEmpty)
      println("string 'str2' is empty");
    else
      println("string 'str2' is not empty");
  }
}

Output:

string is not empty
string is empty

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we created an object Sample. Here, we defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created two immutable strings str1str2 using StringBuilder class. Then we checked string is empty or not using the isEmpty() method then printed the appropriate message on the console screen.
