belongs to collection: Scala scala.math Package Programs
Here, we will read a double number from the user and perform floor operation on input number using scala.math.floor() function and print the result on the console screen.
Floor operation: Using floor operation, we can truncate the value of a double number.
The source code to perform floor operation on the given number is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.
//Scala program to perform floor operation on given number using
// scala.math.floor() function
var num:Double = 0
var res:Double = 0
print("Enter number: ")
println("Number after floor operation: "+res)
Enter number: 3.64
Number after floor operation: 3.0
In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. Here, we created an object Sample. We defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.
In the main() function, we created two variables num, res that are initialized with 0. Then we read the value of the num variable from the user and then we performed floor operation on a given number using scala.math.floor() function and printed the result on the console screen.
