Here, we will create two maps using the HashMap collection. Then we will check HashMap collections are empty or not using the isEmpty() method and print appropriate messages on the console screen.

The HashMap collection stores elements in key/value pairs. It uses hash code to store elements and return a map.

The source code to check a HashMap collection is empty or not is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

      println("Employees-> Non-empty HashMap");

    if (students.isEmpty)
      println("Students -> Empty HashMap");
    else
      println("Students -> Non-empty HashMap");

Output:

Employees-> Empty HashMap
Students -> Non-empty HashMap

Explanation:

Here, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we imported Collection classes using the below statement,

import scala.collection.mutable._

And, we also created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created a HashMap collection students. The students collection contains student id and student name. Then we checked created HashMaps are empty or not using the isEmpty() method and printed the appropriate message on the console screen.
