Program/Source Code:

The source code to get the size of the set using the size property is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to get the size of set using
// the size property

import scala.collection.immutable._

object Sample {
  // Main method
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    //empty set.
    val emptySet = Set();

    //lucky numbers
    val luckyNums = Set(10, 20, 30);

    //Set of cities.
    val cities = Set("DELHI", "MUMBAI", "AGRA", "GWALIOR")

    println("Size of emptySet  : " + emptySet.size);
    println("Size of luckyNums : " + luckyNums.size);
    println("Size of cities    : " + cities.size);
  }
}

Output:

Size of emptySet  : 0
Size of luckyNums : 3
Size of cities    : 4

Explanation:

Here, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we imported Collection classes using below statement,

import scala.collection.immutable._

Here, we also created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created three sets emptySetluckyNums, and cities. Then we got the size of the created set using the size property and printed the result on the console screen.
