Program/Source Code:

The source code to print the current date and time using the getTime() method is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to print current date and time
// using getTime() method

import java.util.Calendar;

object Sample {
  def main(args: Array[String]) {
    val now = Calendar.getInstance().getTime();

    println(now);
  }
}

Output:

Sat May 29 07:51:56 GMT 2021

Explanation:

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we imported the Calendar class using the below statement.

import java.util.Calendar;

Then we created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we get the complete date and time using Calendar.getInstance().getTime() method. It returns time in the 24-hours format. After that, we printed the result on the console screen.
