The source code to demonstrate the BITWISE AND (&) operation is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

Output:

Enter number1: 5
Enter number2: 3
Result: 1

Explanation:

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. Here, we created an object Sample. We defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created three integer variables number1, number2, result that are initialized with 0. Then we read the value of the number1 and number2 variable from the user and then we performed the BITWISE AND (&) operation between both numbers and printed the result on the console screen.

Evaluation of BITWISE AND operation:

Now evaluate the expression,

result = number1 & number2
result = 5 & 3

The binary equivalent of 5 is 0101.
The binary equivalent of 3 is 0011.

Then
0101
0011
====
0001

That is 1.

At last, we printed the value of result on the console screen.
