Here, we will create two sequences of integer numbers using Seq collection class. Then we will check sequence is empty or not using the isEmpty() method. The isEmpty() method returns true, if sequence is empty otherwise it returns false. After that, we will print elements of created sequence on the console screen.

The Seq is a trait. It is used to represent the indexed sequence. It is immutable. It also maintains the insertion order of elements.

The source code to create a sequence of integers is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

    var nums1: Seq[Int] = Seq();
    var nums2: Seq[Int] = Seq(10, 20, 30, 45, 56, 67, 78);

    if (nums1.isEmpty)
      println("Sequence num1 is empty");
    else
      println("Sequence num1 is not empty");

    if (nums2.isEmpty)
      println("Sequence num2 is empty");
    else
      println("Sequence num2 is not empty");
  }
}

Output:

Sequence num1 is empty
Sequence num2 is not empty

Explanation:

Here, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. And, we imported Collection classes using below statement,

import scala.collection.immutable._

Here, we also created a singleton object Sample and defined the main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created two sequence nums1 and nums2 using Seq collection. Then we checked the emptiness of a sequence using the isEmpty() method and printed the appropriate message on the console screen.
