Program/Source Code:

The source code to search an item in a Stack collection is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Java program to search an item in a
// Stack collection

import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;

public class Main {
  public static void main(String[] args) {
    Stack cars = new Stack();
    int pos = 0;

    cars.push("Maruti");
    cars.push("Tata");
    cars.push("Hundai");
    cars.push("Honda");

    pos = cars.search("Honda");
    System.out.println("Position of Honda is: " + pos);
  }
}

Output:

Position of Honda is: 1

Explanation:

In the above program, we imported the "java.io.*" and "java.util.*" packages to use the Stack collection class. Here, we created a class Main. The Main class contains a main() method. The main() method is the entry point for the program.

In the main() method, we created an object of the Stack collection class to store "car" names. Then we searched for the "Honda" car in the search() method. The search() method returns the position of the item from the TOP of the stack and prints the result.
