Program/Source Code:

The source code to check whether a class is a local class or not is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Java program to check whether a class is a
// local class or not

public class Main {
  public static void main(String[] args) throws ClassNotFoundException {
    class Local {
    }

    Class cls1 = Class.forName("Main");
    Class cls2 = Local.class;

    if (cls1.isLocalClass())
      System.out.println("The cls1 is representing a local class");
    else
      System.out.println("The cls1 is not representing a local class");

    if (cls2.isLocalClass())
      System.out.println("The cls2 is representing a local class");
    else
      System.out.println("The cls2 is not representing a local class");
  }
}

Output:

The cls1 is not representing a local class
The cls2 is representing a local class

Explanation:

In the above program, we created a public class Main that contains a main() method. The main() method is the entry point for the program. Here, we checked whether a class is a Local class or not using the isLocalClass() method. The isLocalClass() method returns true, if the class is defined inside a block otherwise it returns false.
