print "Enter number: ";
num = gets.chomp.to_i;  

if(num%2 == 0)
    print ("Number is EVEN");
end

if(num%2 != 0)
    print ("Number is ODD");
end

Output:

RUN 1:
Enter number: 23
Number is ODD

RUN 2:
Enter number: 122
Number is EVEN

Explanation:

In the above program, we read an integer number from the user using gets.chomp.to_i. Then we found the given number is "EVEN" or "ODD" using the if statement and printed the result.
