Q:

Scala program to get the base 10 logarithm of a Double number using scala.math.log10() function

Program/Source Code:

The source code to get the base 10 logarithm value of a Double number is given below. The given program is compiled and executed on the ubuntu 18.04 operating system successfully.

// Scala program to get the base 10 logarithm of a
// Double number using scala.math.log10() function

object Sample{
    def main(args:Array[String]){
        var num:Double    = 0;
        var res:Double = 0;

        print("Enter number: ")
        num=scala.io.StdIn.readDouble()

        res= scala.math.log10(num)
        println("Base 10 logarithm is: "+res);
    }
}

Output:

Enter number: 23.4
Base 10 logarithm is: 1.3692158574101427

Explanation:

In the above program, we used an object-oriented approach to create the program. Here, we created an object Sample. We defined main() function. The main() function is the entry point for the program.

In the main() function, we created two variables numres that are initialized with 0. Then we read the value of the num variable from the user and then we got the base 10 logarithm value using scala.math.log10() function and printed the result on the console screen.
