Program/Source Code:

The source code to check a specified date comes before another date or not is given below. The given program is compiled and executed successfully.

// Golang program to compare a specified date
// comes before another date

package main

import "fmt"
import "time"

func main() {
	var res bool = false

	date1 := time.Date(2021, 2, 5, 0, 0, 0, 0, time.UTC)
	date2 := time.Date(2022, 1, 14, 0, 0, 0, 0, time.UTC)

	res = date1.Before(date2)

	if res == true {
		fmt.Printf("date1 comes before date2")
	} else {
		fmt.Printf("date1 do not come before date2")
	}
}

Output:

date1 comes before date2

Explanation:

In the above program, we declare the package main. The main package is used to tell the Go language compiler that the package must be compiled and produced the executable file. Here, we imported the fmt package that includes the files of package fmt then we can use a function related to the fmt package.

In the main() function, we created two date objects, and then we compare two dates using Before() function. The Before() function returns Boolean value. Here date1 will come before date2. Here, we printed the appropriate message based on comparison on the console screen.
