∵P(A∪B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A∩B)
  ∴P(A∩B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A∪B)
                        =0.5+0.3-0.63=0.17
but       P(A)P(B)=(0.5)(0.3)=0.15
Since    P(A∩B)≠P(A)P(B)
Then the two events are not independent.
