d. Psuedomonas is a common pathogen in those patients suffering with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis. It is often associated with an increasing mortality and a general deterioration in their clinical condition. The treatment is usually with antipseudomonal penicillins, e.g. piperacillin.
