a. Jaundice is a feature of acute pancreatitis due to inflammation of the pancreatic head obstructing bilious outflow. Pseudocyst formation is a late complication of pancreatitis and usually takes about a week to develop thus not seen in the acute inflammation. Hypocalcaemia as opposed to hypercalcaemia is often seen and is useful as one of the Glasgow criterion for predicting severity of pancreatitis along with a low albumin. Bowel necrosis is not associated classically with pancreatitis.
