The answer is A. Liver is the commonest site of metastases (36 per cent) followed by the lungs (29 per cent), bones (14 per cent), adrenals (9 per cent) and brain (6 per cent). Other sites such as spleen, muscle, skin are much less common. NB. Carcinoma commonly spreads to lymph nodes which are not included in this list, but would undoubtedly be involved in all of these cases.
