Using continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) in pregnant women the mean FBS was noted to be 75 +/– 12 mg/dL and the mean blood glucose level was 83.7 +/– 18 mg/dL with a postprandial peak glucose level of 110 +/– 16 mg/dL.

The time interval to reach peak postprandial glucose level was 70 +/– 13 minutes with no significant difference between obese and normal weight pregnant women, and the peak glucose was higher and a delayed peak was seen in obese.
