D. Cytogenetic abnormalities have been detected by FISH in 80% or more of patients with MM. Deletion 13q is the most common abnormality, reported in 40% to 50% of newly diagnosed patients using FISH. The prevalence oft(ll;14) is 15% to 20%; t(4;14) is 15%; and 17p deletion is 5% to 10%. Trisomy 12 has been reported in association with lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
