What is one difference between direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC)?

  1. DC can produce a fatal shock, whereas AC cannot.
  2. AC can supply power to portable devices, but DC cannot.
  3. AC can be transmitted over long distances more cheaply than but DC.
  4. DC can be easily transformed to a different voltage, but AC cannot.
